The Symposium offers you an opportunity to
- improve your knowledge of the ISBT guidelines
- learn about and discuss best practices for the validation process;
- meet with your colleagues and improve your professional network
The Symposium will be held at the historic Trippenhuis, the home of
the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences. The house was
built in 1660 - 1662 for the brothers Louys and Hendrik Trip, two
successful arms dealers. They wanted it to consist of two adjoining
houses, so that they could live and carry on their business together
at home. The facade is richly decorated with eight tall Corinthian
pilasters on the gable and the cannon-barrel shaped chimneys on the
roof. The brothers Trip commissioned painters living in Amsterdam to
paint pictures for the interior and scenes on the ceilings.
To the end of the 18th century the Trippenhuis was owned by
descendants of the Trip family. This situation was changed in the
early 19th century and in 1812 the entire building was turned over to
the Royal Academy. During the extensive restoration 1988 - 1991
original paintings were exposed and can be viewed in the halls and
stairways. - Today the Trippenhuis also houses modern meeting
facilities.
