Research Awards
Two awards will be
given, one for the best paper and the other for the best poster,
presenting the results of original, unpublished research on a topic
of orthodontic interest. The winners will receive a certificate and
a prize of £ 1,000 (approximately Euro 1,500). Candidates for the
WJB Houston Award must be a member of the Society and under the age
of 35 years before January 1, 2005. They must submit a paper
together with an abstract in order to participate. Papers and
posters must be presented personally, in English, by the junior
author, who must have registered for the Congress and paid the
registration fee. Papers and posters under joint authorship are
eligible, provided that a senior author gives written confirmation
that the work is mainly that of the junior author. The abstract
shall be submitted online and also sent together with a paper on the
research project being presented (maximum of 10 pages of A4
including references, double spaced, font size Arial 11; 5 copies) )
to the Congress Secretariat. Applicants for the research awards
should indicate their desire to enter for the award on the abstract
form indicating whether it is to be considered for the lecture or
the poster award. Applicants may submit their work either for the
best paper award or the best poster award. It is not possible to
submit one work for both awards. The deadline is 1 December 2004. |
