Dear colleagues,
It is with great pleasure that, in the name of the International Haemovigilance Network, we invite you to Montréal to attend to the XIVth International Hemovigilance Seminar that will be held April 25-27, 2012. For the first time the Seminar will host the delegates outside of Europe. Montréal is honored to have been selected to host such an important event. The venue will be the Hyatt Hotel in downtown Montréal in the heart of the Entertainment District where all the major cultural events take place.
The scientific program will cover a broad spectrum of topics relevant to hemovigilance covering the whole transfusion chain from donor selection to adverse transfusion reactions. A strong focus will be placed on hemovigilance at the hospital and on transfusion errors. Blood donation hemovigilance, respiratory complications of transfusion and surveillance of adverse transplantation events will also be major topics of interest in this Seminar. A wide brochette of invited speakers from North America and Europe will present the latest information on major transfusion safety issues and the new Biovigilance system from the United States of America will be thoroughly covered. The XIVth Seminar will leave ample time and space for oral and poster presentations from submitted abstracts. Your participation is therefore essential for the success of the event.
